Facility Inspections
Although we did not rate this nursing home highly overall, we want to point out its nearly flawless health inspections in recent years. We awarded them an A- in this category. We take several aspects of a facility's inspection report into consideration in determining our inspection ratings. One of those factors is health deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of the deficiencies is usually more meaningful than the quantity of deficiencies, as some can be quite minor. Fortunately, although this facility had some minor dings on its inspection report, it had zero severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are those found in categories G, H, I, J, K and L. This tells you the inspectors didn't consider any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient safety or health. A few minor deficiencies aren't necessarily the end of the world.
Short-term Care Quality
The second most favorable area we gave this nursing home in any category came in the category of short-term care, where we gave it a grade of B-. In our short-term care category, we try to forge a fair measure for rehabilitation. In doing so, we assess a nursing home's offerings of highly-skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as respiratory therapy. Unfortunately, we found that this place provided fewer registered nurse and physical therapist hours per resident than most other facilities. The more important thing is determining what effect this had on the quality of care. The last item we considered in this category is the number of patients who were able to leave the nursing home and return home. We discovered that just 5.9 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home, which is below average.

Nurse Quality
We also wanted to draw your attention to this facility's poor nursing grade where it received an F. The nursing rating assesses several components, but the most important one is the number of nurse hours spent with patients. This nursing home averaged a meager 0.3 hours of nursing care per patient on a daily basis. This is a very low total compared to most nursing homes. Lastly, we also looked at some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing grades. This place fared well when it comes to minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers. We consider these metrics to be measures of the quality of nursing care.
Long-term Care Quality
Turning to our final area, this nursing home didn't perform very well here either. With a poor grade of F in long-term care, this is about as terrible as it gets. For prospective residents looking for a permanent place to live rather than rehabilitation, long-term care grades are very important. Once we assessed the amount of care provided by nurses, we then looked at the facility's vaccination record. We were pleased to discover that this nursing home vaccinated 95.833336 percent of its patients against pneumonia. Surprisingly, this nursing home also keeps its residents out of the hospital. In fact, it had only 0 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days. Unfortunately, some of its other scores in the category were not as favorable as these.
