Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B-plus

This nursing home earned a very favorable short-term care grade. In fact, its short-term care grade proved to be its best category. In that area, we gave this them a B+. Our short-term care scores are believed to be most meaningful for people requiring rehabilitation from their nursing home. Rehabilitation typically utilizes more highly-skilled nursing services. This means not just nursing services, but also physical and speech therapy, as well as other types of therapy. It does not appear that this nursing home submitted information on registered nurse or physical therapist staffing. Finally, we assessed the percentage of residents that who were able to eventually return home from this facility. We found that 6.4 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home.

Facility Inspections

Grade: B

This facility's inspection grade also was better than its overall grade. Due to a quality inspection report this year, it earned one of our better grades in that category with a B. Our inspection ratings account for a host of factors included in a facility's inspection reports. One of the most important criteria we weigh heavily is the number and severity of deficiencies. Facilities with better grades in this category usually have very few severe deficiencies. Although this place had some deficiencies on its report, none of them were severe based on CMS' deficiency scale. The fact that none of the deficiencies were severe leaves us less concerned with this inspection report.

Nurse Quality

Grade: B-minus

Next, we looked at the nursing category where we awarded this nursing home a grade of B-, which is a decent grade. Our nursing rating is primarily tied to a facility's level of nurse staffing. This nursing home averages just 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a very low figure. Lastly, while this place got dinged a bit for its nursing hours, it actually excelled in some of our quality measures. With less than five percent of its residents suffering from pressure ulcers, it fared very well in this statistic.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: B-minus

The last category we assessed is long-term care. We awarded it a grade of B- in that area. This is a decent grade in this category. In crafting these long-term care scores, we quantify the nursing home's ability to maintain its permanent residents' health and quality of life. One of the factors we considered on top of nurse's aid hours is vaccines. Thankfully, this nursing home provided the pneumonia vaccination to 94.38596 percent of its residents. Lastly, this place was also able to limit hospitalizations. In fact, it had only 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.
