Facility Inspections
A
Historical
On top of earning a strong overall grade, this facility fared even better in the area of inspections which is based on the facility's recent inspections. In fact, we gave it an A for that category, which is one of our best scores. We weigh several aspects of a nursing home's inspection report in calculating these inspection grades. One key factor is deficiencies. You should keep in mind that the severity of the deficiencies is arguably more important than the number of deficiencies, as some of these are quite minor. This particular nursing home received 5 deficiencies on its inspection report. Overall, this is still a good inspection report, but we'd always recommend looking into any deficiencies you find troubling.
Short-term Care Quality
A-
Historical
One of the other reasons we rated this nursing home so well is that it was given a very impressive short-term care grade. Indeed, short-term care ended up being its second best category score. In that area, we awarded this nursing home a grade of A-. In the area of short-term care, we seek to assess measures of a nursing home's rehabilitation services. We look at a nursing home's skilled nursing services, such as those performed by registered nurses and various therapists. This facility provides more services with physical therapists and registered nurses than most nursing homes we looked at. This is typically an encouraging sign. Finally, we looked at the number of residents who were able to return home from this facility. We found that it performed better than most nursing homes in the nation with 55.2 percent of its residents able to return home.

Nurse Quality
B
Historical
Another strong feature for this facility is that it received an impressive nursing grade. In that area, we awarded this facility a grade of B. Our nursing rating consists of many subcategories, however, the most important consideration is the level of nurse hours spent with patients. This nursing home provides 3.8 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also assessed certain nursing quality measures in computing our nursing grades. These include minimizing residents' pressure ulcers and major falls. We look at these areas as reliable indicators of the caliber of nursing care provided, since better care tends to reduce these problems.
Long-term Care Quality
B
Historical
The final area we rated is long-term care. In that category, we awarded this nursing home a very solid grade of B. Long-term care ratings of this caliber generally require both around the clock care from nurses and aids, as well as quality routine healthcare services. Once we finished looking at the volume of nursing care, we then looked at the nursing home's vaccination data. This nursing home vaccinated 97.66537 percent of its patients for pneumonia, which is very impressive. Pneumonia tragically can be a life or death condition for nursing home residents so we like it when a nursing home doesn't roll the dice on this issue. Finally, this nursing home was able to limit hospitalizations. With only 1.14 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, this facility had fewer hospitalizations than the average nursing home.
