Facility Inspections
Although we did not rate this nursing home favorably overall, we want to point out its nearly flawless government inspections in recent years. We awarded them an A+ in this category. Inspection ratings are tied to items located in the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Deficiencies are an important thing to look for on these reports. Most importantly, you should avoid facilities that have severe deficiencies associated with endangerment of patients. This facility received 2 deficiencies on its inspection report, but none of the deficiencies were considered severe. This tells you that the inspectors didn't deem any of the deficiencies to cause an immediate threat to patient safety or health. A few minor deficiencies aren't the end of the world.
Long-term Care Quality
Moving on to the category of long-term care, this facility received a grade of just D in that category. As it turns out, this ended up being one of its better features. Nursing homes that receive this type of score in long-term care likely don't provide the kind of consistent 24/7 care that some other facilities offer. After considering the quantity of nursing care, we then looked at the facility's vaccination record. We were a bit worried that this facility vaccinated only 43.724697 percent of its residents for pneumonia. Surprisingly, this nursing home was actually decent at keeping its patients out of the hospital. It had just 0 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days. This is its best score in this category.

Nurse Quality
Among this nursing home's several poor grades was its F in the area of nursing care. Our nursing grade assesses the facility's level of nurse staffing. We factor in both the levels of skill of the nurses and the amount of time spent with patients. This place offered just 0.3 hours of nursing care per patient per day. This is a very low total compared to most nursing homes. Finally, we also looked at some nursing quality measures in computing our nursing grades. This place performed well in terms of minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers.
Short-term Care Quality
The final area we graded is short-term care, in which this facility received a very poor score here as well. Sadly, it received an abysmal F in this area, which is obviously somewhat alarming. In computing our short-term care scores, we size up the nursing home's levels of highly skilled nursing services, which includes registered nurses, physical therapists occupational therapists and other highly skilled individuals. This category is often a reliable assessment of the nursing home's rehabilitation services. Given its score in this area, we were not stunned to learn that this facility is well below average in terms of the quantity of physical therapy and registered nurse hours offered to its patients based on the measures we assessed. Honestly, this was what we expected here. Lastly, we looked at the number of patients who ultimately returned home from this facility. This nursing home didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 4.3 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home.
