Registered Staff Hours
On top of faring well overall, this nursing home also received nearly flawless government inspections. As a result, it received one of our highest scores in that area with an A+. Our inspection scores weigh several factors included in a facility's inspection report. One key criteria we weigh heavily is the quantity and severity of deficiencies. Nursing homes with better scores in this category typically have very few severe deficiencies. This nursing home was assessed 2 deficiencies on its inspection report, but fortunately none of the deficiencies were considered to be severe deficiencies. This means that the government inspectors did not deem any of the deficiencies to pose an immediate threat to patient safety or health. We should point out that deficiency-free inspection reports are rare in the industry.
Short-term Care Quality
This facility was given superb marks in the area of short-term care. For this reason, it was given one of our highest grades in that area with a score of A+. This facility is the gold standard when it comes to skilled nursing staffing. The facility offered about 50% more registered nurse and physical therapist hours per resident than a typical facility. The final item we looked at in this area is the percentage of patients who were able to leave the nursing home and return to the community. We found that it performed as well as just about any nursing home in Utah in this area with 71.8 percent of its patients returning home.

Long-term Care Quality
Turning to the next category, this facility received a strong long-term care rating. Even though this was not quite as dominant as some of its other category grades, this is still one of the more impressive grades we offer. If you are looking for services other than rehabilitation, you should take a close look at each facility's long-term care grades. On top of considering the amount of care provided by nurses and other staff, we looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. We were not able to track down this place's vaccination data. Clearly, this facility is doing something right in this area as it was able to keep its residents out of the hospital.
