Registered Staff Hours
Nurse Quality
While we graded this facility incredibly poorly overall, it received a fairly respectable nursing grade this year. We gave it a grade of C in that category. Nursing scores are based largely on nurse staffing levels. This nursing home averages 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident each day, which is not an impressive total. Finally, our nursing scores also factor in quality-based measures, such as preventing major falls. Despite not having the most impressive total nursing hours per resident, this facility actually performed admirably in the area of preventing major falls. This is typically a good indicator that a facility has sufficient quality controls in place. Some falls could be avoided if a facility supplies enough nurses to assist its residents.
Short-term Care Quality
Surprisingly, we gave this facility a grade of C for its short-term care rating, which isn't too bad of a score. With our short-term care category, we strive to create a fair gauge for rehabilitation services. In doing so, we look at the facility's offerings of skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as occupational therapy. Unfortunately, this nursing home was below average in terms of its quantity of physical therapy and registered nurse hours provided to its patients based on the measures we assessed. The question is whether this adversely impacted quality of care. The last item we considered in this category is the percentage of residents that returned home from the nursing home. We found that just 5.6 percent of this facility's patients returned home. Unfortunately, this was below average.

Facility Inspections
We also wanted to draw your attention to this facility's inspection grade where it received a lowly F. For nursing homes with bad inspection grades, you should really focus on any severe deficiencies found on their inspection reports. This nursing home was assessed 3 deficiencies by government inspectors. The only positive thing we can say is that none of the deficiencies were in the categories that suggest they created a threat to resident safety or health. Lastly, we would like to point out that this nursing home received significant government fines in recent years of more than $100,000. This typically signifies that a nursing home's poor track record spanned more than one year.
Long-term Care Quality
The last area we looked at was long-term care. This nursing home was given a bottom of the barrel grade of F in that category. Facilities that do not fare well in long-term care typically are not as well-staffed and are lagging in a few of the areas of routine healthcare services we looked at. One of the data points we considered on top of nurse's aid hours was vaccines. Frankly, we were a bit worried that this facility administered the pneumonia vaccination to a relatively low 76.97161 percent of its patients. Surprisingly, this facility was actually decent at keeping its residents out of the hospital. Indeed, it had only 0 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days. This is its best feature in this category.
