Long-term Care Quality
We gave this place one of our better grades in long-term care, where it received an A-. This is a notably better grade than the nursing home's overall score, which was decent but not in the elite range. In a long-term care environment, the facility's primary goal is to keep patients as healthy and safe as possible. This is different than skilled nursing or short-term care where the goal is to rehabilitate residents. On top of considering the quantity of care provided by aids and other staff, we analyzed the percentage of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This nursing home provided the vaccine to 92.95775 percent of its residents. This is somewhat lower than we were hoping for but still a reasonably acceptable figure. Clearly, this facility is doing something right in this area as it also excelled at keeping its patients out of the hospital. It had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.
Facility Inspections
This facility also performed well in inspections. It received one of our best scores in that category with an B+. Inspection ratings weigh several factors, including deficiencies, substantiated complaints and federal fines. You can find more information about each of these issues by reviewing copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. While this nursing home had some deficiencies on its government inspection report, none of them were serious based on CMS' deficiency scale. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Short-term Care Quality
This nursing home's third best area was short-term care. We gave it a grade of C in this area. This is basically a slightly below average score in this area. In the category of short-term care, we try to qualify indicators of a facility's rehabilitation services. We analyze a facility's skilled nursing services, such as the ones performed by registered nurses and various therapists. We were not able to find information about this nursing home's registered nurse or physical therapy staffing. The final datapoint we considered in this category is the number of patients who were able to return home from the nursing home. We found that just 4.4 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home. This figure was below average.
Nurse Quality
The next category we graded is nursing. For this category, we gave this nursing home a C. Our nursing score includes a handful of subcategories, many of which are associated with quantities of nurse staffing. This facility provided just 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a relatively low total compared to most other facilities. In addition to ranking poorly in terms of nursing hours offered, this facility also fell short in certain statistics that are associated with quality of care. This facility's nursing grade was pulled down by poor performance in the area of avoiding pressure ulcers. In fact, we found that 15.053763 percent of this place's residents experienced pressure ulcers. This is at least double the national average.
