Facility Inspections
In addition to being a great nursing home overall, it also earned A+ health inspections in recent years. Its inspections are virtually perfect. We take several aspects of a facility's inspection report into consideration in computing our inspection scores. One critical factor is health deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of the deficiencies is arguably more meaningful than the number of deficiencies, as some deficiencies can be quite minor. Fortunately, although this place had a few minor dings on its inspection report, it had no severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are labeled as categories G, H, I, J, K and L. This means the inspectors didn't deem any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient health or safety. We should note that deficiency-free inspections are uncommon in this industry.
Nurse Quality
Adding to its strong resume, this facility also received an excellent nursing score, with a grade of A-. Nursing scores are largely tied to the nursing home's level of nurse staffing. This nursing home provides 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Lastly, we also looked at some nursing quality measures in determining our nursing grades. This nursing home performed very well when it comes to minimizing its residents' pressure ulcers and major falls. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Long-term Care Quality
We also wanted to point out the fact that this nursing home received an impressive score of A- in our long-term care category. Facilities that receive this type of grade in long-term care typically provide consistent around the clock care to make sure patients are well cared for. After assessing the volume of care provided by aids and other staff, we then looked at the nursing home's vaccination data. This facility vaccinated 100 percent of its patients against pneumonia. Vaccines are critical to keeping residents out of the hospital. Clearly, this place is doing something right in this area as it also excelled at keeping its patients out of the hospital. Indeed, it had only 0.03 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.
Short-term Care Quality
The last category we analyzed is short-term care. In this category, we gave this facility an above average grade of B. In crafting these short-term care ratings, we look at the nursing home's skilled nursing services, including those performed by registered nurses, speech therapists, physical therapists and other types of therapists. Our purpose is to formulate a measure for comparing the rehabilitation services of different facilities. We were not able to track down information about this nursing home's registered nurse or physical therapy staffing. Lastly, we looked at the number of residents who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. We found that 0 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home.
