One of the reasons this turned out to be a quality nursing home is it received an impressive grade in inspections. Inspections ended up being its best category. In this category, we gave this nursing home an A. Inspection scores take several factors into consideration, including deficiencies and substantiated complaints. You can learn more about each of these factors by reviewing copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. This facility was assessed 2 deficiencies on its inspection report, but we were relieved to see that none were considered to be major deficiencies. This tells you that CMS did not consider any of these deficiencies to be an immediate threat to patient health or safety. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.
Long-term Care Quality
Contributing to its top-shelf profile, this nursing home also was awarded an excellent long-term care score, with a grade of A. Long-term care grades of this caliber generally require both around the clock care from nurses and aids, as well as quality routine healthcare services. In addition to looking at the quantity of care provided by aids and other staff, we analyzed the percentage of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This nursing home vaccinated 80.95238 percent of its patients. This is a few points lower than we were hoping for but still a decent percentage. While its vaccination rate was a bit lower than we had hoped, at least this facility was able to limit hospitalizations. Indeed, it had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.
