Facility Inspections
On top of being a great facility overall, it also earned A+ inspections recently. Its inspections were virtually perfect. Our inspection scores weigh several factors found on a facility's inspection report. One key criteria we look at is the number and severity of deficiencies. Facilities with higher scores in this category usually have very few of these severe deficiencies. While this place had some minor dings on its inspection report, it had zero severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are found in categories G through L. This means that CMS did not deem any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient health or safety. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.
Long-term Care Quality
To add to its dominant achievements in other areas, we awarded this facility a grade of A for our long-term care rating. For patients in need of a permanent place to live rather than skilled nursing, long-term care is an important category. Once we assessed the volume of care provided by nurses and other staff, we then looked at the facility's vaccination statistics. This facility vaccinated 65.07937 percent of its patients for pneumonia, which happens to be slightly less than we were hoping for but still a reasonably acceptable percentage. Clearly, this place is doing something right in this area as it also excelled at keeping its residents out of the hospital. In fact, it had only 0 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.

Short-term Care Quality
Moving on our third area, this facility was given first-rate short-term care score. In fact, we awarded it a score of A- in this category. In our short-term care category, we try to craft a fair barometer for rehabilitation services. In doing so, we assess a nursing home's level of highly-skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as respiratory therapy. Fortunately, it looks like this facility has registered nurses on staff. Not all facilities employs these types of nurses. On the other hand, based on the data they provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. Lastly, we considered the percentage of patients that eventually returned home from this facility. We found that 6.5 percent of this nursing home's residents were able to return home.
Nurse Quality
In the final category we rated, this facility was given an impressive grade grade of A- in our nursing category. With this score, the nursing home topped off a straight A profile. When computing a nursing home's nursing grade, we assess the number of hours nurses are caring for patients and the levels of training of the nurses. This facility provided 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This nursing home performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a facility has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can often be prevented if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.
