Facility Inspections
In addition to being a great overall grade, this facility also received A+ health inspections in recent years. Its inspections were virtually flawless. Arguably the most significant factor we look at in calculating our inspection ratings is deficiencies. Deficiencies are found on a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Places with better scores in this category most likely dodged the more severe deficiencies involving health risks or even death. We were not able to find deficiency data for this nursing home. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.
Short-term Care Quality
This facility also was awarded a impressive short-term care grade. Indeed, this turned out to be this facility's second most impressive category grade. In that category, we awarded this facility a grade of A-. Our short-term care grades are based on a facility's quantity of skilled nursing services. This includes a vast scope of nursing services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and respiratory therapists, not to mention other types of therapy. Fortunately, it appear that this facility employs registered nurses. Not all facilities employs these types of nurses. However, according to the data this nursing home provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. Lastly, we assessed the percentage of patients who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. We found that 6.2 percent of this facility's patients returned home.

The third category we graded is long-term care. This nursing home was awarded a favorable long-term care grade, with a B+ in the category. If you are looking for anything other than short-term rehabilitation, you should take a close look at each nursing home's long-term care ratings. On top of assessing the volume of care provided by nurses and other staff, we also looked at the number of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This nursing home provided the vaccine to 90.03021 percent of its residents. This is a bit less than we were hoping for. Clearly, this nursing home is doing something right in this area as it also excelled at keeping its patients out of the hospital. In fact, it had only 0.01 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.
Nurse Quality
The last area we assessed is nursing. We gave this facility one of our higher scores in this area, with a B. Although this was not as favorable as a few of this facility's other scores, it is still an excellent grade. When determining a facility's nursing rating, we look at the quantity of hours nurses commit to patients and the skill levels of the nurses. This nursing home provides 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Lastly, we also assessed some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing grades. This nursing home performed very well in terms of minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.
