On top of receiving a strong overall grade, this facility performed well in our nursing category. We awarded it an A for that category, which is one of our highest scores. In determining a facility's nursing score, we look at the quantity of hours nurses are seeing residents and the skill levels of those nurses. This nursing home provides 0.5 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also assessed several nursing quality measures and this nursing home excelled in some of these areas. With less than five percent of its residents sustaining pressure ulcers, it performed as well as any nursing home Nebraska in this category. This is generally a good indicator of quality nursing care. Pressure ulcers can generally be avoided by offering better nursing care, such as by having a system of turning residents at least once a day.

The third area we analyzed is long-term care. This facility was given a very positive long-term care score, with a grade of B in the category. When facilities receive a grade in this range in this category it generally means it has plenty of staff and is an overall good place to live on a permanent basis. On top of assessing the amount of care provided by aids and other staff, we looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This facility gave the vaccine to 98.888885 percent of its residents, which is what we like to see. Pneumonia sadly is often a deadly ailment for nursing home residents so we prefer when a nursing home does not leave its residents vulnerable. Finally, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. It had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.

Finally, we looked at this nursing home's inspection grade This was not one of this nursing home's better areas. We gave it a C in this area. This isn't a terrible grade in this category. It simply wasn't as favorable as some of this nursing home's other category grades. We believe that one of the most critical factors in evaluating an inspection report is deficiencies. In this regard, we especially focus on the severity of those deficiencies. This facility had 6 deficiencies on its inspection report, but fortunately none were in any of the categories labeled G through L. This indicates that CMS did not deem any of the deficiencies to create an imminent threat to resident safety or health. Unfortunately, we also need to draw your attention to the fact that this facility received significant government fines in recent years.
