Facility Inspections
To go along with its favorable overall score, we gave this facility an A+ for our inspections rating. Our inspection scores are tied to items located in the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Facilities that score well in this area typically have very few deficiencies on those reports. Most importantly, these facilities generally do not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with risks to patient safety. Amazingly, this was one of the few nursing homes in the country that had no deficiencies whatsoever on its inspection report. This is very impressive. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.
Long-term Care Quality
This facility also excelled in the category of long-term care, where it received a score of A. Not many facilities received a better grade in this area. When facilities receive this kind of score in long-term care it is typically a good sign for resident care and indicates that the facility is well-staffed with nurses and aids. In addition to considering the volume of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we also looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This facility gave the vaccine to 97.1831 percent of its residents, which is what we like to see. Pneumonia is often a dangerous ailment for nursing home residents so we like it when a nursing home does not roll the dice on this issue. Lastly, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. It had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.

Nurse Quality
This facility received a very good nursing grade this year as well. It received one of our better scores in that category with a grade of B. Our nursing category includes many components, most of which are based on quantities of nurse staffing. This nursing home provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also looked at some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing grades. This place performed very well when it comes to minimizing its residents' pressure ulcers and major falls. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.
Short-term Care Quality
The final category we rated was short-term care. We awarded this nursing home a decent score in this area, with a grade of B-. Although this was not as high as many of this facility's other grades, it is still a middle of the pack score. Our short-term care grade is generally used to score a nursing home's rehabilitation services. To provide highly scored rehabilitation services, nursing homes generally need to provide better levels of highly skilled nursing. Skilled nursing includes registered nurses, physical therapists, respiratory therapists and other types of therapists. Unfortunately, it does not look like this facility provided information on registered nurse or physical therapist staffing. Finally, we considered the number of residents who were able to return to the community from this facility. We found that 0 percent of this facility's patients returned home. At most facilities, closer to half of their residents are able to return home so this figure is below average.
