Our inspection ratings weigh a host of factors included in a nursing home's inspection reports. One key criteria we look at is the quantity and severity of deficiencies. Facilities with higher scores in this area typically have few severe deficiencies. Amazingly, this was one of the few nursing homes in the country that had no deficiencies whatsoever on its inspection report. This is very impressive. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Pneumonia sadly can be a life or death health condition for nursing home residents so we strongly prefer when a facility doesn't take any chances. This nursing home's next best area was short-term care. In that category, we gave this facility a grade of B-. Our short-term care scores are based on a facility's quantity of highly-skilled highly skilled professionals. This includes a vast range of nursing services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and speech therapists, not to mention other types of therapy. Unfortunately, we were not able to find registered nurse or physical therapy staffing data for this facility. The final measure we assessed in this category is the number of residents that returned home from the nursing home. We found that just 0 percent of this facility's residents returned home. Unfortunately, this was below the national average.

Turning to the final area, this nursing home received a decent nursing score. Although this was not quite as strong as a few of its other category grades, this is truly not a poor grade. Our nursing category includes quite a few subcategories, many of which are tied to nursing hours. This nursing home provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a much lower figure than we are used to seeing. Lastly, we like to look at quality-based statistics, such as the percent of patients who experienced pressure ulcers and major falls.
