Facility Inspections
We want to point out that this facility really outperformed its overall score in the area of inspections. In fact, it received an excellent inspection report this year. As a result, it received one of our highest grades in this category with a grade of A. Our inspection scores account for a host of factors included in a nursing home's inspection reports. One key criteria we look at is the quantity and severity of deficiencies. Places with higher grades in this area tend to have few of these severe deficiencies. This facility received 2 deficiencies on its inspection report, but fortunately none of the deficiencies were considered to be severe. This indicates that the government inspectors didn't deem any of these deficiencies to create an imminent risk to resident health or safety. A couple of minor deficiencies shouldn't stop you from considering a nursing home.
Long-term Care Quality
Another one of this nursing home's better category grades was in the area of long-term care. In that area, we awarded this nursing home a grade of B. If you are looking for services other than short-term rehabilitation, you should take a close look at each nursing home's long-term care grades. After considering the quantity of care provided by nurses and other staff, we next considered the facility's vaccination statistics. This facility vaccinated 61.37993 percent of its residents for pneumonia, which happens to be somewhat less than we anticipated but still a reasonably acceptable figure. Clearly, this place is doing something right in this area as it was able to keep its residents out of the hospital. In fact, it had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.

Short-term Care Quality
The third category we assessed was short-term care. This facility's received a low-end short-term care grade where it was given an F. Our short-term care scores are vital for prospective residents looking for rehabilitation. Rehabilitation typically utilizes higher levels of skilled nursing services. Skilled nursing includes a broad range of services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and occupational therapists, as well as other types of therapy. With a grade this poor for this category, we were not stunned to learn that this nursing home was well below average in multiple staffing figures we focus on. It offered substantially fewer physical therapist and registered nurse hours per resident than most other facilities. Finally, we looked at the percentage of residents that who were able to eventually return home from this facility. This nursing home didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 4.7 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home.
Nurse Quality
The next area we graded was nursing, which turned out to be this nursing home's least impressive area. We gave it a lowly F in this category, which is obviously a major disappointment. When determining a nursing home's nursing grade, we assess the number of hours nurses commit to residents and the levels of training of the nurses. This nursing home provides 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a much lower figure than we are used to seeing. Lastly, we also assessed some nursing quality-based metrics in computing our nursing grades. This nursing home fared well in terms of avoiding major falls and pressure ulcers.
