Long-term Care Quality
In addition to receiving a great overall grade, this facility also received an A+ long-term care grade. Nursing homes that receive this kind of grade in long-term care tend to provide consistent 24/7 care to ensure patients are well cared for. In addition to assessing the quantity of care provided by aids and other staff, we analyzed the percentage of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This facility provided the vaccine to 93.10345 percent of its patients. This is a few points below what we anticipated but still a respectable figure. Clearly, this nursing home is doing something right in this area as it also excelled at keeping its residents out of the hospital. It had only 0.03 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.
Nurse Quality
One of the other reasons we rated this nursing home so highly is that it earned a very impressive nursing grade. In that category, we gave this facility an A+. When calculating our nursing ratings, we assess both staffing levels and the levels of licensure of the nurses. This nursing home provides 0.8 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This place performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a place has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can often be avoided if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.

Facility Inspections
In addition, this nursing home also received a nearly flawless government inspection report. As a result, it earned one of our best grades in that category with a score of A. Our inspection ratings weigh several factors included in a nursing home's inspection reports. One key criteria we look at is the number and severity of deficiencies. Facilities with better grades in this category tend to have very few of these severe deficiencies. While this place had a few minor dings on its inspection report, it had no severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are ones found in categories G through L. This tells you that the inspectors did not consider any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient health or safety. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.
Short-term Care Quality
The fourth category we rated is short-term care, where this facility was awarded an A. This wrapped up an elite report card. Only a select few nursing homes earned an A- or higher in all four categories. In crafting these short-term care scores, we look at the nursing home's skilled nursing services, including those performed by registered nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists and other types of therapists. The purpose is to devise a scale for comparing the rehabilitation services of different facilities. Fortunately, it looks like this facility employs registered nurses. Not every facility employs these types of nurses. On the other hand, according to the data they provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. Finally, we considered the percentage of patients that who were able to eventually return home from this facility. We found that 0 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home.
