To go along with its strong overall grade, we awarded this nursing home a grade of A- for our inspections rating. We weigh several aspects of a nursing home's inspection report in calculating our inspection scores. One key factor is health deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of deficiencies is arguably more meaningful than the quantity of deficiencies, as some are relatively minor. One of the other reasons we rated this nursing home so highly is that it received a very impressive nursing score. In that category, we gave this nursing home an B+. When calculating a facility's nursing score, we weigh the amount of time nurses are seeing residents and the skill levels of the nurses. This nursing home averages 0.5 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This place performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a facility has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can many times be prevented if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.

The next area we graded was short-term care. This facility was awarded an impressive short-term care grade, with a B+ in this area. Our short-term care grades are believed to be most critical for patients needing a nursing home for rehabilitation. Rehabilitation typically mandates higher levels of skilled nursing services. This includes not just nursing services, but also physical and occupational therapy, as well as other variations of therapy. Fortunately, it appear that this facility has registered nurses on staff. Not every facility employs these skilled professionals. On the other hand, according to the data this nursing home provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. Lastly, we considered the number of patients who eventually returned home from this facility. We found that 5.1 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home.

Turning to our last category, we gave this nursing home a D in long-term care. This is the facility's least impressive category grade. Naturally, this grade hurt the facility's overall profile to a certain degree. When nursing homes receive a score in this range in long-term care it generally means the nursing home didn't perform well in our measures relating to resident care. Once we assessed the volume of care provided by aids and other staff, we turned to the facility's vaccination record. We were a bit alarmed this facility vaccinated 58.72093 percent of its residents against pneumonia, which happens to be quite a bit below the national average. Surprisingly, this facility was actually able to limit hospitalizations. With only 0 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, this facility had less hospitalizations than the average nursing home. This is its best feature in this category.
