Facility Inspections

Grade: A-plus

In addition to being a strong facility overall, it also received A+ inspections recently. Its inspections are nearly perfect. Our inspection ratings account for a host of factors included in a nursing home's inspection reports. One key criteria we consider is the number and severity of deficiencies. Nursing homes with better scores in this area typically have very few severe deficiencies. We were not able to locate deficiency counts for this nursing home. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A

We also wanted to note the fact that this nursing home was awarded a top-shelf score of A in our long-term care category. When nursing homes receive this kind of score in long-term care it is a good sign for resident care and suggests that the nursing home is well-staffed with nurses and aids. One of the factors we considered in addition to nursing hours was vaccinations. This facility administered the pneumonia vaccine to 98.305084 percent of its residents. Vaccination is a reliable method to minimize unnecessary deaths for the nursing home population. Finally, this facility was able to limit hospitalizations. In fact, it had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.

Nurse Quality

Grade: A

Adding to its impressive resume, this nursing home also excelled in our nursing category. In fact, we awarded it a grade of A for that category. When determining a facility's nursing score, we look at the quantity of hours nurses are caring for residents as well as the levels of training of those nurses. This facility provided 0 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Lastly, we also looked at some nursing quality measures in determining our nursing grades. This facility performed very well in terms of avoiding pressure ulcers and major falls. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B-plus

In our final area, we awarded this nursing home an A+ for our short-term care rating. This finished off an elite profile. Our short-term care ratings are probably more important for those requiring rehabilitation from their nursing home. Rehabilitation typically requires more highly-skilled nursing. This includes not merely nursing, but also physical and occupational therapy, as well as other forms of therapy. Unfortunately, we were not able to find information on registered nurse or physical therapy staffing for this nursing home. The final datapoint we assessed in this category is the percentage of patients who were able to leave the facility and return to the community. We found that 0 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home.
