Facility Inspections
While we graded this facility incredibly poorly overall, it received a fairly respectable inspection report this year. As a result, it received a decent grade in that category with a score of B-. Our inspection ratings are tied to many pieces of information found on the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Deficiencies are a key thing to look for on these reports. Severe deficiencies indicate a risk to patient safety. While this place had a few minor dings on its report, it had zero severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are ones found in categories G through L. This means the inspectors didn't consider any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient safety or health. Finally, CMS cited this nursing home for possible abuse or neglect. Hopefully, its performance improves in the future, but until then we simply can't recommend this facility.
Nurse Quality
This facility's second best category was nursing, but even there it received a grade of just D. This is still a well below average grade. In computing our nursing scores, we assess both staffing levels and the levels of licensure of those nurses. This nursing home provides 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a much lower figure than we are used to seeing. Finally, we also assessed some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing ratings. This facility performed well when it comes to avoiding major falls and pressure ulcers. We consider these datapoints to be reliable indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Long-term Care Quality
Unfortunately, we gave this facility an F for its long-term care grade. Long-term care scores of this caliber generally are a bad sign for the quantity and quality of care provided by nurses and aids, as well as the levels of routine medical care available. On top of considering the amount of care provided by aids and other staff, we also looked at the number of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This nursing home gave the vaccine to 89.051094 percent of its patients. This is quite a bit less than what we were hoping for. Surprisingly, this nursing home was actually able to limit hospitalizations. With just 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, this nursing home has less hospitalizations than the average nursing home. This is its best feature in this category.
Short-term Care Quality
The final category we scored is short-term care. This nursing home was given an abysmal grade of F in this category. In calculating these short-term care grades, we assess the facility's skilled nursing services, including those performed by registered nurses, speech therapists, physical therapists and other types of skilled professionals. Our objective is to create a measure for comparing the rehabilitation services of different facilities. With a score this poor for this category, we were not surprised to find this place was below average in multiple staffing areas we looked at. It supplied far fewer physical therapist and registered nurse hours per resident than most facilities. Lastly, we considered the percentage of residents that ultimately returned home from this facility. This facility didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 4 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home.
