Facility Inspections

Grade: A-minus

To go along with its strong overall grade, we awarded this nursing home a grade of A- for our inspections rating. Arguably the most significant factor we consider in determining our inspection scores is deficiencies. Deficiencies are found on a facility's recent inspection reports. Nursing homes with higher scores in this category most likely avoided the more severe deficiencies involving patient abuse or death. While this facility had a few minor dings on its government inspection report, it had no severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are ones found in categories G, H, I, J, K and L. This tells you that the government inspectors didn't consider any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient health or safety. Remember that deficiency-free inspection reports are rare in the industry.

Nurse Quality

Grade: B-plus

One of the other reasons we graded this facility so highly is that it received a very impressive nursing rating. In fact, nursing proved to be its second best category grade. In that area, we gave this facility an B+. There are quite a few criteria within this category. Most of these subcategories relate to the quantity of nurse staffing. This nursing home provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This nursing home performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a facility has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can often be prevented if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: B

This nursing home is also strong in the category of long-term care, where it was given a score of B. It outperformed most facilities in this category. If you are looking for anything other than rehabilitation, you should take a close look at each facility's long-term care grades. After looking at the volume of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we turned to the facility's vaccination data. This facility vaccinated 86.206894 percent of its residents against pneumonia, which is a bit below what we anticipated but still a respectable figure. Although its vaccination rate was a bit lower than we hoped for, this facility was able to limit hospitalizations. In fact, it had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B

The final category we analyzed is short-term care, where we awarded it an above average grade of B. This nursing home really doesn't have any weaknesses. With our short-term care grade, we seek to craft a fair barometer for rehabilitation. In this process, we analyze the nursing home's offerings of skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as respiratory therapy. Fortunately, it appear that this facility has registered nurses on staff. Not all nursing homes employs these skilled professionals. However, according to the information they provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. Finally, we looked at the percentage of patients that returned home from this nursing home. We found that 0 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home.
