Long-term Care Quality
We couldn't find anything positive to say about this place. It received a grade of just D in the area of long-term care. Long-term care scores in this range generally are a bad sign for the quantity and quality of care provided by nurses and aids, as well as the levels of routine medical care available. After we finished assessing the volume of care provided by nurses, we then analyzed the nursing home's vaccination data. Candidly, we were a bit concerned this nursing home vaccinated just 85.05747 percent of its residents for pneumonia. To our surprise, this place was actually able to limit hospitalizations. With only 0.02 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, this nursing home had fewer hospitalizations than many nursing homes. This was its best feature in this category.
Nurse Quality
We gave this facility a grade of just D for our nursing rating and that actually turned out to be its second highest score. When determining our nursing scores, we factor in both staffing levels and the training levels of the nurses. This nursing home provided a meager 0.4 hours of nursing care per patient each day. This is not a very impressive figure. Finally, we also assessed some nursing quality-based metrics in calculating our nursing scores. This nursing home performed well in terms of avoiding pressure ulcers and major falls.

Facility Inspections
Unfortunately, with a grade of D in the inspection category, this facility performed relatively poorly in that area. One of the more important factors in evaluating inspection reports is deficiencies. We recommend you pay close attention to the level of severity of the deficiencies. This particular facility was assessed 4 deficiencies by government inspectors. The only positive thing we found is that none of these deficiencies were in the categories that suggest they created a risk to resident safety or health. Finally, this facility also received 3 substantiated complaints in recent years. This is yet another bad sign.
Short-term Care Quality
The last area we rated is short-term care. It received an abysmal F in this category, which is a bottom of the barrel grade. Our short-term care scores are probably more important for those needing rehabilitation from their nursing home. Rehabilitation generally utilizes higher levels of skilled nursing. Skilled nursing includes not merely nursing, but also physical and occupational therapy, as well as other variations of therapy. Not surprisingly, we found that this nursing home provides far less physical therapist and registered nurse hours per resident than the average facility. The last measure we considered in this category is the percentage of residents who eventually returned home from the nursing home. This facility struggled quite a bit in this metric as well, with just 4.4 percent of its patients returning home. Unfortunately, this was well below average.
