Facility Inspections
In addition to being a great overall grade, this facility also received A+ health inspections in recent years. Its inspections were virtually flawless. We take several aspects of a facility's inspection report into consideration in calculating these inspection grades. One critical factor is health deficiencies. You should keep in mind that the severity of the deficiencies is arguably more meaningful than the quantity of deficiencies, as some deficiencies are quite minor. This place received 5 deficiencies on its inspection report, but we were relieved to see that none were considered to be severe. This means that the government inspectors did not deem any of the deficiencies to pose an immediate threat to patient safety or health. The fact that the deficiencies were relatively minor made us feel better about this inspection report.
Nurse Quality
One of the other reasons we graded this facility so highly is that it received a very impressive nursing grade. In fact, nursing turned out to be its second best category grade. In that category, we awarded this nursing home an B. Nursing scores are based in large part on levels of nurse staffing. This nursing home provides 0.5 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Lastly, we also assessed some nursing quality measures in determining our nursing grades. This place performed very well in the area of minimizing its residents' pressure ulcers and major falls. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Short-term Care Quality
This nursing home also received an impressive short-term care score. In fact, we gave it an above average score of B in this area. Short-term care grades are often used to assess a facility's rehabilitation services In order to have quality rehabilitation services, facilities generally must feature higher levels of skilled nursing. Skilled nursing includes registered nurses, physical therapists, respiratory therapists and other licensed professionals. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear that this facility provided data regarding its registered nurse or physical therapy staffing. Finally, we considered the number of residents who were able to return to the community from this facility. We found that 5.6 percent of this facility's residents returned home.
Long-term Care Quality
The final category we rated is long-term care. We gave this nursing home a solid grade in that category, with a grade of B-. While this isn't as favorable as some of this facility's other grades, it is nevertheless not the end of the world. In a long-term care environment, the primary goal is to keep patients healthy and safe. This is different than skilled nursing or short-term care where the goal is to rehabilitate patients. After considering the quantity of nursing care, we then analyzed the facility's vaccination records. Frankly, we were a bit concerned this nursing home vaccinated a relatively low 89.84772 percent of its residents against pneumonia. Nevertheless, this nursing home keeps its patients out of the hospital. In fact, it had only 0.01 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.
