Nurse Quality

Grade: B-plus

While we were down on this facility overall, we awarded it a grade of B+ for our nursing rating. This score is far more impressive than the nursing home's overall grade. When determining a facility's nursing grade, we look at the amount of time nurses are with patients as well as the level of skill of the nurses. This nursing home provides 0 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This facility performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a nursing home has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can frequently be prevented if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B

We also awarded this facility a strong score in short-term care. This facility earned a grade of B in this area, which is one of our more impressive grades. Short-term care ratings are based in part on a facility's quantity of skilled skilled healthcare professionals. This means a vast spectrum of services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and occupational therapists, not to mention other variations of therapy. We were not able to track down information about this nursing home's registered nurse or physical therapy staffing. Finally, we looked at the percentage of patients that who were able to eventually return home from this facility. We found that 0 percent of this nursing home's residents were able to return home.

Facility Inspections

Grade: F

We also wanted to point out this facility's inspection score where it received a lowly F. For facilities that received this poor of an inspection rating, we would scrutinize any severe deficiencies on its inspection report. This nursing home was hit with a category J or K deficiency, which rank among the worst categories of deficiencies. This generally means that inspectors uncovered a deficiency which places patient health or safety in imminent danger. Lastly, we also want to point out that this place received large government fines amounting to more than $100,000. This usually signifies that a facility's poor track record has been an issue for multiple years.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: F

Switching gears to our next area, this facility really did not fare well here either. Due to a rock bottom grade of F in long-term care, this is about as terrible as it gets. When nursing homes receive a score in this range in this category it generally means the facility didn't perform well in our quality measures relating to resident care. On top of looking at the amount of care provided by aids and other staff, we also looked at the number of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. As it turns out, this facility vaccinated just 63.492065 percent of its residents, which is quite a bit lower than we expected. Surprisingly, this nursing home actually fared well at keeping its residents out of the hospital. It had only 0.01 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days. This was its best score in this category.
