To go along with its strong overall grade, we awarded this nursing home a grade of A+ for our inspections rating. We take several aspects of a facility's inspection report into consideration in computing these inspection ratings. One critical factor is deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of the deficiencies is arguably more important than the number of deficiencies, as some end up being relatively insignificant. This facility was assessed 2 deficiencies on its inspection report, but fortunately none of the deficiencies were considered to be major deficiencies. This indicates that CMS didn't deem any of the deficiencies to cause an immediate risk to patient safety or health. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

This first-rate facility also was superb in the area of long-term care, where it received a grade of A+. Few facilities performed better in this area. After we finished assessing the quantity of nursing care, we then analyzed the nursing home's vaccination record. This facility vaccinated 98.666664 percent of its residents for pneumonia, which is very impressive. Pneumonia tragically can be a dangerous health condition for nursing home residents so we prefer when a facility does not take any chances. Finally, this facility was able to limit hospitalizations. Indeed, it had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.

Among its many impressive grades, this facility received an excellent nursing grade. In fact, we gave it a grade of A in that category. Our nursing rating analyzes the nursing home's level of nurse staffing. We look at both the levels of skill of those nurses as well as the quantity of hours spent with residents. This facility provided 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This place performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a place has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can many times be prevented if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.

In the final category we graded, this nursing home received a very favorable grade of A- in our short-term care category. With this score, the facility finished off a straight A profile. In crafting these short-term care ratings, we assess the nursing home's skilled nursing services, such as those performed by registered nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists and other types of therapists. The objective is to devise a tool for comparing the rehabilitation services of nursing homes. Fortunately, it appear that this nursing home employs registered nurses. Not all facilities employs these skilled professionals. On the other hand, based on the data this nursing home provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. Finally, we assessed the number of residents that eventually returned home from this nursing home. We found that 0 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home.
