Facility Inspections
While we graded this facility incredibly poorly overall, it received a fairly respectable inspection report this year. As a result, it received a decent grade in that category with a score of C. We take several aspects of a facility's inspection report into consideration in calculating these inspection scores. One key factor is health deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of deficiencies is usually more important than the number of deficiencies, as some of these are relatively insignificant. This nursing home was hit with 6 deficiencies on its inspection report, but none were category J through L deficiencies. This tells you that inspectors didn't consider any of the deficiencies to put patient health or safety in imminent harm or jeopardy. Unfortunately, we also need to draw your attention to the fact that this facility received significant government fines in recent years.
Long-term Care Quality
This facility also didn't fare terribly in the category of long-term care. Indeed, we gave it a C for that area, which happens to be among its higher scores. In a long-term care environment, the nursing home's primary goal is to keep patients healthy and safe. This is different than skilled nursing or short-term care where the goal is to rehabilitate patients. One of the datapoints we considered in addition to nursing hours is vaccines. This nursing home provided the pneumonia vaccine to 93.37017 percent of its residents. Nevertheless, this nursing home was able to keep its patients out of the hospital. In fact, it had only 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.

Nurse Quality
We gave this facility a grade of just D for our nursing rating. Our nursing score is based on the nursing home's nurse staffing levels. We consider both the levels of skill of the nurses and the quantity of hours spent with residents. This facility offered a meager 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident daily. This statistic is well below the national average. Lastly, we also assessed some nursing quality measures in determining our nursing scores. This place fared well in terms of avoiding major falls and pressure ulcers. We consider these areas to be reliable indicators of the quality of nursing care.
Short-term Care Quality
Moving on to our next category, this nursing home didn't perform very well here either. With a bottom of the barrel grade of F in short-term care, this is about as terrible as it gets. Our short-term care scores are based in part on the nursing home's quantity of skilled highly skilled professionals. This includes a vast spectrum of services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and occupational therapists, as well as other types of therapy. Given its score in this category, we were not stunned to discover that this nursing home was well below average in terms of the number of physical therapy and registered nurse hours provided to its residents based on the measures we looked at. Honestly, this was what we expected to find. Lastly, we assessed the percentage of residents who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. We found that just 3.2 percent of this facility's residents returned home.
