Short-term Care Quality

Grade: A-plus

To pair with its strong overall score, we awarded this nursing home a grade of A+ for its short-term care grade. In computing our short-term care scores, we quantify the facility's skilled nursing services, including those performed by registered nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists and other types of therapists. Our goal is to devise a scale for sizing up the rehabilitation services of different nursing homes. Fortunately, it appear that this facility employs registered nurses. Not all facilities employs these types of nurses. However, according to the data they provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. Finally, we considered the number of residents who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. We found that 7.5 percent of this facility's residents returned home.

Facility Inspections

Adding to its impressive category scores, this nursing home also excelled in the category of inspections, where it received an A. Not many nursing homes performed as well in this area. Our inspection scores are based on many pieces of information found on the a nursing home's recent government inspections. Facilities that receive favorable grades in this category have very few deficiencies on their reports. Most importantly, these places should not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with endangerment of patients. Although this facility had some deficiencies on its inspection report, none of them were severe based on CMS' scale. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A

The next area we assessed is long-term care. Contributing to its first-rate resume, this nursing home also performed well in that area. In fact, we awarded it a grade of of A in that area. When facilities receive this kind of grade in this category it is usually a good sign for resident care and indicates that the place is well-staffed with nurses and aids. On top of looking at the amount of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we analyzed the percentage of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This facility vaccinated 98.94737 percent of its patients. Vaccines are critical to keeping residents healthy. Lastly, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. It had only 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.
