Facility Inspections
This nursing home earned a solid overall grade as described above, but we really wanted to emphasize its excellent inspection reports in recent years. We gave them an A+ in this category. Arguably the most important factor we look at in determining our inspection scores is deficiencies. Deficiencies are found on a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Nursing homes with better grades in this area typically avoided the most severe deficiencies involving health risks or even death. While this place had a few deficiencies on its inspection report, none were major deficiencies based on CMS' scale. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is always a good sign.
Long-term Care Quality
This nursing home also was awarded an impressive long-term care score. Indeed, we gave them a B+ in that area, which happens to be one of our more favorable scores. For patients in need of a permanent place to live as opposed to rehabilitation, long-term care grades are an important measure. In addition to assessing the volume of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we also looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This nursing home provided the vaccine to 77.118645 percent of its patients. This is somewhat below what we expected but still a respectable figure. Although its vaccination rate was a bit lower than we hoped for, at least this place was able to limit hospitalizations. Indeed, it had only 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.

Nurse Quality
Next we looked at nursing grades, where this nursing home received an F, which is a rock bottom grade. This area was definitely not a strength for this facility. When calculating a facility's nursing rating, we consider the quantity of hours nurses are with patients as well as the level of licensure of those nurses. This place averaged just 0.3 hours of nursing care per patient on a daily basis. This is an alarmingly low total. Lastly, we also assessed some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing scores. This facility performed well when it comes to avoiding pressure ulcers and major falls.
Short-term Care Quality
This facility's weakest category is short-term care, which is the final area we scored. It received an abysmal F for this category. In spite of multiple acceptable grades in other categories, this score is nevertheless of a concern so we wanted to draw your attention to it. Our short-term care ratings are meaningful for residents requiring rehabilitation. Rehabilitation generally utilizes more highly-skilled nursing services. Skilled nursing includes a vast range of nursing services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and occupational therapists, as well as other variations of therapy. Considering its grade in this area, we weren't surprised to find that this nursing home is well below average in terms of the number of physical therapy and registered nurse hours offered to its residents based on the data we assessed. Honestly, this was what we expected here. The final datapoint we assessed in this category is the percentage of residents that returned home from the facility. This facility struggled quite a bit in this metric as well, with just 4.5 percent of its residents returning home. Unfortunately, this was quite a bit below the national average.
