Short-term Care Quality
On top of receiving a strong overall score, this facility performed well in our short-term care category. We awarded it an A for that category, which is one of our best grades. In the area of short-term care, we seek to evaluate indicators of a facility's rehabilitation. We look at a nursing home's skilled nursing services, including the ones performed by registered nurses and physical, occupational and other therapists. Fortunately, it appear that this facility has registered nurses on staff. Not all nursing homes employs these types of nurses. However, based on the data this nursing home provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. Finally, we assessed the number of patients who eventually returned home from this facility. We found that 6.1 percent of this nursing home's residents were able to return home.
Nurse Quality
One of the other reasons we rated this facility so highly is that it received a very impressive nursing grade. In fact, nursing turned out to be its second best category grade. In that area, we awarded this facility a grade of A-. Nursing ratings are mostly associated with a nursing home's level of nurse staffing. This nursing home averages 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This nursing home performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a facility has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can generally be avoided if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.

Long-term Care Quality
Turning to an additional strength for this nursing home, we awarded them one of our higher scores in our long-term care category as well, with a B+. When nursing homes receive a score in this range in long-term care it typically means it's well-staffed and is a quality place to reside on a permanent basis. In addition to looking at the amount of care provided by nurses and other staff, we also looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This nursing home administered the vaccine to 98.64865 percent of its patients, which is an impressive figure. Pneumonia is too frequently a life threatening ailment for nursing home patients so we prefer when a facility does not leave its residents vulnerable. Finally, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. Indeed, it had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.
Facility Inspections
In the last area we looked at, we found that this facility earned a solid government inspection report this year as well. As a result, it earned a decent score in our inspection category with a B-. Inspection ratings weigh several factors included in a facility's inspection reports. One of the most important criteria we weigh heavily is the quantity and severity of deficiencies. It does not appear that we were able to find deficiency data for this facility. Without the information regarding deficiencies for this facility, it was challenging to fully assess it in this category.
