Registered Staff Hours
Nurse Quality
Although we graded this facility incredibly poorly overall, it received a fairly respectable nursing rating this year. We gave it a C in that category. Nursing scores are tied to quality and quantity of nursing care. This facility averages 0.4 hours of nursing care per patient on a daily basis, which is well below average. Lastly, despite not having the highest total nursing hours, this place actually performed admirably in the area of preventing major falls. This is typically a reliable indicator that a nursing home has quality controls in place.
Short-term Care Quality
This nursing home also didn't fare too badly in the category of short-term care. Indeed, we awarded it a grade of C in that category, which wound up being among its better scores. With our short-term care category, we endeavor to craft a valuable gauge for rehabilitation. In doing so, we assess a facility's level of skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as respiratory therapy. Unfortunately, we found that this facility provided fewer registered nurse and physical therapist hours per resident than most other nursing homes. The more important thing is determining what bearing this had on quality of care. The final statistic we assessed in this area is the percentage of residents that returned home from the facility. We found that just 4.6 percent of this facility's residents returned home.

Facility Inspections
We also wanted to draw your attention to this nursing home's inspection grades where it received an F. This generally means we found some red flags on the inspection reports. We would advise paying special attention to any deficiencies on a facility's inspection reports when it receives this poor of an inspection rating. We suggest you scrutinize the severity of the deficiencies. This particular nursing home was hit with 4 deficiencies by CMS. The only positive thing we found is that none of its deficiencies were in the categories that suggest they created a risk to patient safety or health. Finally, CMS cited this nursing home for possible abuse or neglect. Hopefully, its performance improves in the future, but until then we simply can't recommend this facility.
Long-term Care Quality
The next category we assessed was long-term care. Unfortunately, we gave it an abysmal F for this area, which is a rock bottom grade. Nursing homes that do not fare well in this category often don't provide as much nursing care and also may be struggling in some of the areas of routine healthcare services we assessed. After assessing the volume of care provided by aids and other staff, we then analyzed the nursing home's vaccination records. Unfortunately, this nursing home vaccinated only 71.38365 percent of its residents for pneumonia. To our surprise, this facility was actually able to limit hospitalizations. With only 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, this nursing home had fewer hospitalizations than most nursing homes. This was its best feature in this category.
