Facility Inspections
While we graded this nursing home incredibly poorly overall, it earned an impressive inspection report this year. As a result, it earned one of our best grades in that category with an A-. Inspection grades account for several factors included in a nursing home's inspection report. One of the most important criteria we rely on is the quantity and severity of deficiencies. You should avoid places with a bunch of severe deficiencies flagged. This nursing home received 4 deficiencies on its inspection report, but none of the deficiencies were considered to be severe. This indicates that the government inspectors didn't consider any of the deficiencies to pose an immediate threat to resident safety or health. A couple minor deficiencies aren't necessarily the end of the world.
Nurse Quality
Unfortunately, we gave this facility an F for its nursing grade. Our nursing rating is largely tied to the nursing home's nurse staffing. This nursing home provides 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a much lower figure than we are used to seeing. Finally, we also assessed some nursing quality measures in determining our nursing ratings. This nursing home performed well when it comes to minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers.

Short-term Care Quality
Another issue is the F this nursing home received in the area of short-term care. In crafting these short-term care ratings, we analyze the nursing home's skilled nursing services, such as those performed by registered nurses, respiratory therapists, physical therapists and other types of skilled professionals. Our goal is to create a barometer for sizing up the rehabilitation services of various nursing homes. Based on its weak grade in this category, we were not shocked to learn this place provided substantially fewer registered nurse and physical therapist hours per patient than most facilities. Finally, we considered the percentage of patients who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. This definitely was not a strength for this facility. We found that just 2.6 percent of this facility's residents returned home. At most facilities, about half of their patients are able to return home so this is well below average.
Long-term Care Quality
The last area we analyzed was long-term care, where this nursing home was given a very poor grade here as well. Sadly, it received a lowly F for this area, which is obviously a major concern. When nursing homes receive a grade in this range in long-term care it typically means the facility didn't perform well in our quality measures relating to patient care. In addition to looking at the amount of care provided by nurses and other staff, we analyzed the number of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. Candidly, we were a bit concerned this nursing home gave the vaccine to only 78.62069 percent of its residents. Surprisingly, this facility was actually decent at keeping its patients out of the hospital. It had only 0.01 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days. This is its best score in this category.
