Registered Staff Hours
Long-term Care Quality
While we did not have many favorable things to say about this nursing home's overall grade, it did receive a better long-term care grade of B-. This enhanced its profile to some degree. Long-term care scores are crucial for patients needing personal care. One of the criteria we considered on top of nurse's aid hours is vaccinations. Thankfully, this facility administered the pneumonia vaccine to 100 percent of its patients. Lastly, this facility was also able to limit hospitalizations. In fact, it had only 0.02 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.
Facility Inspections
We were also pleasantly surprised to award this nursing home a relatively favorable health inspection rating as well. We awarded it a respectable grade of B- in this category, which easily topped its overall grade. We believe that one of the most important factors in evaluating an inspection report is deficiencies. We especially look at the severity of those deficiencies. This particular nursing home received 4 deficiencies on its inspection report. Overall, this is still a solid inspection report, but we'd always recommend looking into any deficiencies you find troubling.

Nurse Quality
We were surprised to find that this facility also excelled in the area of nursing. We gave it an D for that category, which is one of our highest scores. Our nursing score looks at the facility's nurse staffing levels. We weigh both the levels of training of the nurses and the number of hours spent with patients. This facility provided just 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a very low total compared to most nursing homes. Lastly, we also looked at some nursing quality measures in computing our nursing grades. This facility fared well in terms of minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers.
Short-term Care Quality
The next area we scored is short-term care, which proved to be a weak spot for this nursing home. We gave this facility a grade of just D for our short-term care category. Short-term care grades are important for patients in need of rehabilitation. Rehabilitation usually mandates higher levels of skilled nursing. This includes a wide range of nursing services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and respiratory therapists, as well as other forms of therapy. Considering its weak rating in this area, we were not shocked to find that this facility provides far fewer physical therapist and registered nurse hours per resident than most other facilities. Lastly, we looked at the number of residents who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. This was not a strength for this nursing home. We found that just 4.3 percent of this facility's residents returned home. At most facilities, about half of their patients are able to return home so this is well below average.
