Facility Inspections
On top of receiving a great overall score, this place also received top notch health inspections in recent years. We gave them one of our better scores in this category, with an A-. Our inspection scores are based on several pieces of information located in the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Facilities that excel in this category have few deficiencies on their reports. Most importantly, these nursing homes generally do not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with endangerment of patients. While this place had some minor dings on its government inspection report, it had no severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are ones found in categories G through L. This means the inspectors didn't deem any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient safety or health. The fact that the deficiencies were relatively minor leaves us less concerned with this inspection report.
Nurse Quality
One of the other reasons we graded this facility so highly is that it received a very impressive nursing rating. In fact, nursing proved to be its second best category grade. In that area, we awarded this facility an B. When calculating our nursing ratings, we assess both the number of hours nurses spend with residents and the levels of licensure of the nurses. This nursing home provides 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This nursing home performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a facility has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can frequently be avoided if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.

Long-term Care Quality
The third category we graded is long-term care. This nursing home was awarded an impressive long-term care score, with a B in the area. Long-term care ratings of this caliber generally require both around the clock care from nurses and aids, as well as quality routine medical care. In addition to considering the quantity of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This facility vaccinated 98.35165 percent of its patients. Vaccines are critical to keeping residents out of the hospital. Clearly, this place is doing something right in this area as it also excelled at keeping its patients out of the hospital. In fact, it had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.
Short-term Care Quality
The last area we scored was short-term care. We awarded it a B- in that area. This is a perfectly acceptable grade in this category. Short-term care scores are based in part on the nursing home's quantity of skilled highly skilled professionals. This means a broad scope of services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and respiratory therapists, as well as other variations of therapy. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like this facility submitted information about its staffing of registered nurses or physical therapists. Finally, we looked at the percentage of patients who were able to return to the community from this facility. We found that 5.4 percent of this facility's patients returned home. At most nursing homes, closer to half of their residents are able to return home so this figure is below average.
