Short-term Care Quality
On top of performing well in its overall grade, this facility received high marks in the area of short-term care as well. It received our highest grade in that category with a score of A+. Our short-term care grade is generally used to assess a nursing home's performance with rehabilitation. In order to offer highly graded rehabilitation services, facilities generally must have higher levels of highly skilled nursing services. These types of services include registered nurses, physical therapists, speech therapists and other highly skilled individuals. Fortunately, it appear that this facility employs registered nurses. Not all nursing homes employs these skilled professionals. However, based on the data they provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. Lastly, we assessed the percentage of patients who returned home from this facility. We found that 5.9 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home.
Nurse Quality
One of the other reasons we rated this facility so highly is that it earned a very impressive nursing grade. In fact, nursing proved to be its second best category grade. In that category, we awarded this nursing home a grade of A. The nursing grade consists of several subcategories, but the most important one is the number of nurse hours per patient per week. This nursing home provides 0.5 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also assessed several nursing quality-based metrics and this place excelled in some of these areas. With less than five percent of its residents sustaining pressure ulcers, it performed as well as any place the state in this category. This is generally a good indicator of quality nursing care. Pressure ulcers can many times be avoided by offering better nursing care, such as by having a protocol of turning a resident even once per day.

Facility Inspections
Racking up another strong category grade, this facility also excelled in the area of inspections, where it earned an A-. Few facilities performed better in this area. Inspection ratings weigh several factors included in a facility's inspection report. One key criteria we consider is the quantity and severity of deficiencies. Nursing homes with higher scores in this area generally have very few of these severe deficiencies. We weren't able to locate deficiency counts for this nursing home. Without all of the deficiency related data for this nursing home, it was difficult to fully evaluate the place in the area of inspections.
Long-term Care Quality
The last category we rated is nursing, is this nursing home's least impressive area. We awarded this facility a grade of D in this area. This is one of the couple of dings of an otherwise strong profile. If you are looking for services other than short-term rehabilitation, you should take a close look at each nursing home's long-term care scores. After considering the amount of care provided by nurses and other staff, we then looked at the nursing home's vaccination statistics. This nursing home vaccinated 93.1677 percent of its patients against pneumonia, which is somewhat below what we anticipated but still a reasonably acceptable percentage. To our surprise, this place was actually decent at keeping its patients out of the hospital. Indeed, it had just 0 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days. This was its best feature in this category.
