Facility Inspections
To pair with its relatively modest overall grade, we gave this nursing home a grade of A+ for its inspection grade. This is far more impressive than the facility's overall grade. These inspection ratings weigh several factors, including deficiencies and substantiated complaints. You can find more information about each of these items by reviewing copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. This place received 7 deficiencies on its inspection report, but we were relieved to see that none of the deficiencies were considered to be major deficiencies. This means that CMS didn't consider any of the deficiencies an immediate risk to resident safety or health. A couple of minor deficiencies should not lead you to cross a nursing home off your list.
Short-term Care Quality
This facility received its second most favorable category score in the category of short-term care. We awarded this facility a B- in this area, which is a respectable grade. Our short-term care ratings are based in part on the facility's quantity of skilled highly skilled professionals. This includes a wide range of nursing services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and respiratory therapists, not to mention other variations of therapy. In this nursing home's case, we were surprised to learn that it actually provides less physical therapist and registered nurse hours per patient than a typical facility. The hope is that this does not adversely impact the quality of care. Lastly, we assessed the percentage of patients who ultimately returned home from this facility. We found that 5.1 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home. This figure was actually well below the national average.

Long-term Care Quality
We gave this nursing home just a D for our long-term care grade. This is not an impressive grade. For prospective residents in need of a permanent place to live as opposed to skilled nursing, long-term care grades are a key measure. After considering the amount of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we then looked at the nursing home's vaccination record. We were optimistic to discover that this facility vaccinated 95.14563 percent of its patients for pneumonia. Surprisingly, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. With just 0.01 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, this facility had less hospitalizations than most nursing homes. Sadly, some of its other scores in this category weren't as favorable as these.
Nurse Quality
The next category we assessed was nursing, which was a low point for this facility. We gave this nursing home a grade of just D for nursing. When determining a nursing home's nursing grade, we assess the amount of time nurses are seeing patients and the levels of training of the nurses. This place offered a meager 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident each day. This is not a very impressive figure. To go along with its low totals in the area of nursing hours per patient, this place also didn't perform as well in the quality-based measures we looked at in determining our nursing grades. We looked at the percentage of patients experiencing pressure ulcers and major falls. This nursing home had more falls and pressure ulcers than the average nursing home. This could be a bad sign when you consider that many falls and bed sores are preventable with better nursing care. Unfortunately, these metrics hurt this nursing home's nursing grade quite a bit.
