Facility Inspections

Grade: A

To go along with a great overall grade, we awarded this nursing home a grade of A for inspections. Our inspection scores are tied to many items located in the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Nursing homes that excel in this area tend to have few deficiencies on those reports. Most importantly, these nursing homes generally do not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with endangerment of patients. While this place had some deficiencies on its government inspection report, none were serious based on CMS' deficiency scale. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: A-minus

This facility also was awarded a first-rate short-term care grade. In fact, this turned out to be this nursing home's second strongest category score. In that category, we awarded this facility a grade of A-. In determining our short-term care ratings, we scrutinize the nursing home's levels of highly skilled nursing, which includes registered nurses, physical therapists respiratory therapists and other licensed professionals. This category is typically a reliable measure of the facility's rehabilitation. Fortunately, it looks like this nursing home has registered nurses on staff. Not every nursing home employs these types of nurses. On the other hand, according to the data this nursing home provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. The last datapoint we assessed in this category is the percentage of residents who were able to leave the nursing home and return home. We discovered that 5.8 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home.

We also wanted to draw your attention to the fact that this facility was awarded a dominant grade of A- in our long-term care category. Nursing homes that excel in this category tend to provide residents with better supervision and stay on top of routine medical care. One of the datapoints we considered on top of nursing hours was vaccinations. This nursing home administered the pneumonia vaccination to 99.65987 percent of its residents. This is a great way to avoid unnecessary deaths and hospitalizations for the senior population. Finally, this facility was able to limit hospitalizations.
