Long-term Care Quality
We did not have any positive things to say about this facility's overall score or its category grades. Its best category was long-term care. Nevertheless, with a D in this category, it still performed relatively badly. For prospective residents looking for a permanent place to live as opposed to skilled nursing, long-term care is a very important category. One of the factors we considered in addition to nurse's aid hours is vaccines. Thankfully, this nursing home administered the pneumonia vaccination to 100 percent of its residents. To our surprise, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. With just 0 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, this facility had fewer hospitalizations than most nursing homes. Unfortunately, a few of its other scores in the category were not as favorable as these.
Short-term Care Quality
We also wanted to point out that this nursing home received an F for its short-term care score. Short-term care scores are vital for prospective residents seeking rehabilitation. Rehabilitation typically utilizes more skilled nursing services. Skilled nursing includes a vast range of services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and occupational therapists, as well as other variations of therapy. Considering its abysmal rating in this area, we weren't surprised to discover this place offers far fewer registered nurse and physical therapist hours per patient than most nursing homes. The last statistic we assessed in this area is the percentage of patients who were able to leave the facility and return to the community. We discovered that just 0 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home, which is well below average. The combination of these subpar statistics sunk this facility's short-term care score.

Facility Inspections
We also wanted to draw your attention to this place's inspection rating where it received a lowly F. We would advise paying special attention to any deficiencies on a nursing home's inspection reports when it receives this poor of an inspection score. We would scrutinize the severity of those deficiencies. This nursing home was hit with 3 deficiencies by CMS. The only favorable thing we found is that none of its deficiencies were in the categories that suggest that they created a threat to patient safety or health. Lastly, this nursing home was cited by CMS for possible abuse or neglect. This is generally a really bad sign. We would never recommend this facility.
Nurse Quality
Switching gears to the next area, this nursing home did not perform very well in this area either. With a poor grade of F in nursing, this is really as bad as it gets. When computing a nursing home's nursing grade, we assess the number of hours nurses commit to patients and the levels of training of those nurses. This nursing home offered just 0.1 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is an alarmingly low total. Lastly, we also looked at a few quality-based metrics in determining our nursing ratings. This nursing home was above average in two of the statistics we considered, with solid scores for minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers. These data points are usually good indicators of the quality of nursing care offered.
