Facility Inspections

Grade: A-plus

In addition to faring well overall, this facility earned a nearly flawless inspection report. Consequently, it earned one of our best grades in that area with an A+. Our inspection scores are based on datapoints found on the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Nursing homes that score well in this area tend to have very few deficiencies on those reports. Most importantly, these facilities should not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with endangerment of patients. Although this nursing home had some deficiencies on its report, none were serious based on CMS' scale. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A

Among its many dominant scores, this nursing home received a strong long-term care score. In fact, we awarded it a grade of A in this area. When facilities receive this type of grade in long-term care it is typically a good sign for resident care and indicates that the nursing home is well-staffed with nurses and aids. In addition to assessing the volume of care provided by aids and other staff, we analyzed the number of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This facility provided the vaccine to 100 percent of its patients, which is far higher than the average nursing home. Lastly, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. It had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.

Short-term Care Quality

This nursing home also was awarded a strong short-term care score. In fact, we gave it an above average grade of B+ in this area. In the area of short-term care, we endeavor to evaluate indicators of a nursing home's rehabilitation services. We analyze the nursing home's skilled nursing services, including the ones performed by registered nurses and physical and occupational therapists. We were not able to find registered nurse or physical therapy staffing data for this facility. The last item we assessed in this category is the number of patients that returned home from the nursing home. We found that 5.7 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home as opposed to remaining at the facility on a permanent basis.
