Facility Inspections
In addition to having a decent overall rating, we also wanted to point out that this place received favorable inspections in recent years. We gave it one of our better scores in this area, with a B+. This is a notably better score than the nursing home's overall grade. These inspection scores take several factors into consideration, including deficiencies and federal fines. You can find more information about each of these factors by reviewing copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. Fortunately, although this nursing home had some minor dings on its report, it had no severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are found in categories G, H, I, J, K and L. This means that the inspectors didn't deem any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient health or safety. The fact that the deficiencies were relatively minor made us feel better about this inspection report.
Short-term Care Quality
Additionally, we also wanted to point out that this facility was given impressive short-term care marks in this assessment. We gave them one of our better scores in this area, with a B. This proved to be the facility's second highest grade. In calculating these short-term care ratings, we assess the nursing home's skilled nursing services, such as those performed by registered nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists and other types of skilled professionals. The objective is to devise a tool for comparing the rehabilitation services of nursing homes. Fortunately, it appear that this facility has registered nurses on staff. Not every nursing home employs these skilled professionals. However, according to the information this nursing home provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. Finally, we looked at the percentage of residents who ultimately were able to return home from this facility. We found that 3.4 percent of this facility's patients returned home.

Nurse Quality
In addition, we awarded this nursing home a grade of B in our nursing category. This is one of our better grades. Our nursing grade includes a handful of datapoints, but the paramount consideration is the quantity of nurse hours per patient per week. This facility provided 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This nursing home performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a facility has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can generally be prevented if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.
Long-term Care Quality
The final category we looked at was long-term care, turned out to be this nursing home's least impressive category. We gave this nursing home a D in this category. This really is one of just a few dings in an otherwise strong profile. Nursing homes that receive this type of grade in this category likely don't provide the kind of consistent 24/7 care that some other nursing homes offer. On top of assessing the volume of care provided by aids and other staff, we looked at the number of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. We discovered that this facility vaccinated a relatively low 73.01588 percent of its residents, which is not a very encouraging sign. Surprisingly, this nursing home actually fared well at keeping its patients out of the hospital. In fact, it had just 0 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days. This was its best feature in this category.
