Short-term Care Quality
Even though we gave this facility a terrible overall grade, we gave it a B- for short-term care. Short-term care scores are based on a facility's quantity of highly-skilled skilled healthcare professionals. This includes a wide range of nursing services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and occupational therapists, in addition to other variations of therapy. This nursing home provides more services with physical therapists and registered nurses than most nursing homes we looked at. This is usually a favorable sign. The final item we assessed in this category is the number of residents who were able to leave the nursing home and return to the community. We discovered that just 5.7 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home, which is below average.
Nurse Quality
We were also surprised to find that this facility received a decent nursing grade this year. We gave it a grade of C in that category. Our nursing grade is mostly tied to a facility's nurse staffing. This facility provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident on a daily basis. This is a lower figure than we are used to seeing. Despite having low quantities of nursing care, this place surprisingly fared better in some of the quality-based metrics we looked at. In fact, it scored well in the area of minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers.

Facility Inspections
Unfortunately, this facility received very weak inspection reports in recent years, causing them to receive a lowly F in our inspection category. An F in this category is generally a signal that we found some red flags on the nursing home's inspections. With places that received this poor of an inspection rating, we recommend scrutinizing any severe deficiencies on its inspection report. Unfortunately, it does not look like we have deficiency counts for this nursing home. Lastly, we would like to point out that this facility received large government fines amounting to more than $100,000. This generally indicates that a facility's bad performance has been an issue for more than one year.
Long-term Care Quality
The final category we analyzed was long-term care. It received an F for this category, which is an abysmal score. If you are looking for services other than rehabilitation, you should take a close look at long-term care ratings. On top of assessing the volume of care provided by aids and other staff, we analyzed the number of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This facility provided the vaccine to 97.27891 percent of its patients. Surprisingly, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. With just 0.01 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, this facility had less hospitalizations than most nursing homes. Unfortunately, some of its other scores in the category weren't as favorable as these.
