This facility received a long-term care rating which is better than its overall score. We gave this facility a B+ in this category. This boosted its overall grade. For long-term care residents, the facility's primary objective is to maintain patients' quality of life and keep them safe. On top of looking at the volume of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This nursing home gave the vaccine to 93.85246 percent of its residents. This is somewhat below what we were hoping for but still a decent figure. Clearly, this place is doing something right in this area as it also excelled at keeping its patients out of the hospital. Indeed, it had only 0.02 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.

This nursing home also performed well in inspections. As a result, it received one of our best scores in that area with an B+. We weigh several aspects of a nursing home's inspection report in calculating these inspection ratings. One critical factor is deficiencies. Based on this, we had a generally positive view of this nursing home's recent inspections.

This facility was given its next best category score in the category of short-term care. We awarded this nursing home a grade of C in this category, which is a respectable score. In calculating our short-term care ratings, we scrutinize a nursing home's levels of highly skilled nursing, which includes registered nurses, physical therapists respiratory therapists and other licensed professionals. This grade is often a useful measure of the nursing home's ability to rehabilitate patients. Unfortunately, we found that this nursing home provided fewer physical therapist and registered nurse hours per resident than most other facilities. The key is determining what effect this had on quality of care. The last statistic we looked at in this category is the percentage of patients who were able to leave the facility and return home. We discovered that just 0 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home, which is actually below average.
