Facility Inspections
We want to draw your attention to the fact that this nursing home outperformed its overall grade in the area of inspections. In fact, it received an excellent government inspection report this year. As a result, we gave it one of our best grades in this category with an A. These inspection ratings take several factors into consideration, including deficiencies and substantiated complaints. You can find more information about each of these issues by reviewing copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. Unfortunately, it does not look like we were able to find deficiency data for this nursing home. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.
Long-term Care Quality
We also gave this facility a positive grade in long-term care. This facility earned a grade of B+ in this category, which turns out to be one of our higher scores. For patients looking for a permanent residence as opposed to skilled nursing, long-term care grades are an important measure. Once we looked at the volume of care provided by aids and other staff, we turned to the nursing home's vaccination record. This nursing home vaccinated 82.33766 percent of its patients against pneumonia, which happens to be somewhat lower than we anticipated but still a respectable figure. Clearly, this nursing home is doing something right in this area as it was able to keep its patients out of the hospital. Indeed, it had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.

Short-term Care Quality
Additionally, we also would like to draw your attention to the fact that this nursing home received impressive short-term care marks in this assessment. We awarded them one of our more favorable scores in that area, with a B. Our short-term care scores are considered to be more important for residents needing rehabilitation services. Rehabilitation usually mandates more highly-skilled nursing services. This means not only nursing services, but also physical and respiratory therapy, as well as other types of therapy. Unfortunately, it does not look like this facility provided information about its staffing of registered nurses or physical therapists. The last statistic we considered in this category is the percentage of residents who ultimately were able to return home from the nursing home. We found that 6.1 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home as opposed to remaining at the nursing home on a permanent basis.
Nurse Quality
The next category we assessed was nursing, which is this facility's worst category. Sadly, it received an abysmal F in this category, which is certainly very disappointing. Nursing ratings are heavily correlated with nurse staffing levels. This place averaged a meager 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident each day. This is an alarmingly low total. Lastly, we also assessed some nursing quality-based metrics in computing our nursing scores. This facility fared well in the area of avoiding major falls and pressure ulcers.
