Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

We also gave this facility a positive grade in long-term care. This facility earned a grade of B+ in this category, which turns out to be one of our higher scores. For patients looking for a permanent residence as opposed to skilled nursing, long-term care grades are an important measure. Once we looked at the volume of care provided by aids and other staff, we turned to the nursing home's vaccination record. This nursing home vaccinated 58.854168 percent of its patients against pneumonia, which happens to be somewhat lower than we anticipated but still a respectable figure. Clearly, this nursing home is doing something right in this area as it was able to keep its patients out of the hospital. Indeed, it had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.

This facility's next most favorable category is short-term care. In that area, we gave this nursing home a grade of B-. Our short-term care ratings are believed to be more critical for patients in need of rehabilitation from their nursing home. Rehabilitation generally mandates higher levels of highly-skilled nursing. Skilled nursing includes not just nursing services, but also physical and speech therapy, as well as other variations of therapy.
