Registered Staff Hours
Short-term Care Quality
While we did not rate this facility favorably overall, we want to point out its relatively favorable short-term care grade. We awarded it a respectable grade of B in this category, which was much better than its overall score. Our short-term care grades are believed to be more meaningful for individuals requiring rehabilitation services. Rehabilitation typically requires additional highly-skilled nursing services. This includes not only nursing, but also physical and speech therapy, as well as other variations of therapy. Fortunately, it appear that this facility employs registered nurses. Not all nursing homes employs these skilled professionals. On the other hand, based on the data this nursing home provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. The last statistic we looked at in this category is the percentage of residents that returned home from the facility. We found that 5.3 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home as opposed to remaining at the nursing home on a permanent basis.
Nurse Quality
We also want to point out that this facility received a decent grade in our nursing category. We awarded it a grade of C in the area. Nursing ratings are heavily correlated with quality and quantity of nursing care. This nursing home provides 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a much lower figure than we are used to seeing. Lastly, despite not having the most impressive total nursing hours, this nursing home actually performed admirably in the metric of preventing major falls. This is usually a reliable indicator that a nursing home has sufficient quality controls in place.

Facility Inspections
This nursing home received mediocre inspections in recent years. We awarded them a C in this category. We take several aspects of a facility's inspection report into consideration in calculating our inspection grades. One critical factor is health deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of the deficiencies is usually more meaningful than the quantity of deficiencies, as some can be quite minor. This facility was assessed 5 deficiencies on its inspection report, but none were category G through L deficiencies. This indicates that it dodged the more significant classes of deficiencies. Unfortunately, we also need to draw your attention to the fact that this facility received significant government fines in recent years.
Long-term Care Quality
The final category we graded is long-term care. We gave it a lowly F for this category, which is an abysmal score. Nursing homes that don't fare well in long-term care typically are not as well-staffed and are lagging in a few of the areas of routine healthcare services we looked at. After we finished assessing the amount of nursing care, we turned to the facility's vaccination data. Candidly, we were a bit concerned this nursing home vaccinated a relatively low 35.8156 percent of its patients against pneumonia. Surprisingly, this place was actually able to limit hospitalizations. With only 0.03 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, this facility had less hospitalizations than many nursing homes. This is its best score in this category.
