Short-term Care Quality

Grade: A

To pair with its strong overall score, we gave this facility an impressive grade of A for short-term care. With our short-term care assessment, we try to craft a meaningful gauge for rehabilitation. In doing so, we assess a nursing home's levels of highly-skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as respiratory therapy. Fortunately, it appear that this facility employs registered nurses. Not every facility employs these types of nurses. However, according to the data they provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. Finally, we looked at the number of residents who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. We found that 6.1 percent of this facility's patients returned home.

Nurse Quality

Grade: A-minus

This nursing home also received a very impressive nursing grade. In fact, this turned out to be its second best category grade. In that area, we awarded this facility a grade of A-. Our nursing rating is mostly tied to a nursing home's level of nurse staffing. This nursing home averages 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Lastly, we also looked at some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing grades. This facility performed very well when it comes to avoiding pressure ulcers and major falls. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Facility Inspections

Grade: B-plus

In addition, this facility also performed well in our inspection category, which is based on the facility's recent government inspection reports. We gave it a grade of B+ for that category, which is one of our best scores. Inspection ratings account for a host of factors found on a nursing home's inspection report. One of the most important criteria we consider is the quantity and severity of deficiencies. Nursing homes with higher grades in this area generally have very few of these severe deficiencies. This particular nursing home received 8 deficiencies on its inspection report. Overall, this is still a good inspection report, but we'd always recommend looking into any deficiencies you find troubling.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: B

The next category we analyzed was long-term care. In that area, we awarded this nursing home an impressive grade of B. Nursing homes that receive this kind of grade in long-term care tend to provide consistent 24/7 care to ensure residents are kept in good health. In addition to considering the quantity of care provided by nurses and other staff, we analyzed the number of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This nursing home gave the vaccine to 97.413795 percent of its patients, which is an impressive figure. Pneumonia is too frequently a deadly ailment for nursing home residents so we strongly prefer when a facility doesn't roll the dice on this issue. Finally, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. In fact, it had only 0.01 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.
