This facility received a strong overall grade as described above, but we especially want to point out its excellent health inspections in recent years. We awarded them an impressive grade of A+ in this area. We take several aspects of a facility's inspection report into consideration in determining these inspection grades. One of those factors is deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of deficiencies is arguably more meaningful than the quantity of deficiencies, as some of these end up being quite insignificant. Unfortunately, it does not look like we have deficiency counts for this nursing home. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

One of the other reasons we graded this nursing home so well is that it was awarded a strong long-term care grade. Indeed, long-term care is its second most impressive category grade. In that category, we awarded this facility a grade of A-. For patients looking for a permanent place to live as opposed to rehabilitation, long-term care grades are very important. On top of considering the quantity of care provided by aids and other staff, we also looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This facility vaccinated 88.888885 percent of its patients. This is a bit less than we anticipated but still a decent figure. While its vaccination rate was a bit lower than we like to see, we were pleased to find place was able to limit hospitalizations. It had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.

This facility's third most favorable area turned out to be its short-term care grade, where it was given a grade of B-. Short-term care grades are critical for individuals seeking rehabilitation. Rehabilitation generally utilizes higher levels of skilled nursing. Skilled nursing includes a vast range of nursing services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and respiratory therapists, as well as other variations of therapy. Unfortunately, we were not able to find registered nurse or physical therapy staffing data for this facility. The last measure we assessed in this category is the number of patients who were able to leave the facility and return to the community. We discovered that just 5.5 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home, which is actually below average.

The next category we graded is nursing, which is this facility's worst area. Unfortunately, we gave it a lowly F in this category, which is clearly a bit of a disappointment. There are several data points within this grade. Many of these factors relate to the quantity of nurse staffing. This nursing home provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a much lower figure than we are used to seeing. Unfortunately, this facility also did not perform as well as we hoped in some of the quality-based metrics we looked at in this category.
