Short-term Care Quality

Grade: C

Although we gave this facility a terrible overall grade, we awarded it a grade of C for our short-term care rating. Our short-term care ratings are critical for residents needing rehabilitation. Rehabilitation typically requires higher levels of highly-skilled nursing services. This includes a wide range of services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and speech therapists, as well as other types of therapy. Unfortunately, we found that this facility provided fewer registered nurse and physical therapist hours per resident than most other nursing homes. The tricky part is determining what bearing this had on the quality of care. The final statistic we considered in this category is the percentage of patients who returned home from the facility. We found that just 0 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home. This figure was below average.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: D

Unfortunately, this nursing home's second highest category is long-term care. However, with a D in this area, it still fared relatively poorly. When nursing homes receive a score in this range in long-term care it typically means the nursing home didn't perform well in our quality measures relating to patient care. After considering the volume of care provided by aids and other staff, we next considered the facility's vaccination statistics. Frankly, we were a bit worried that this facility vaccinated 89.71061 percent of its residents for pneumonia, which is quite a bit lower than the national average. To our surprise, this facility was actually able to limit hospitalizations. With only 0.02 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, this nursing home had fewer hospitalizations than most nursing homes. This is its best feature in this category.

Nurse Quality

Grade: D

We gave this facility a grade of just D for our nursing rating. Our nursing rating is mostly based on the facility's nurse staffing. This facility provided just 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a very low total compared to most nursing homes. Finally, we also looked at some nursing quality measures in determining our nursing ratings. This nursing home performed well in the area of avoiding major falls and pressure ulcers.

This generally indicates that the deficiencies uncovered by inspectors had the potential to create actual harm to patients.
