Facility Inspections
While we did not rate this place favorably overall, we want to point out its relatively favorable health inspections in recent years. We gave it a B+ in this category, which was much better than its overall grade. Inspection ratings are tied to many pieces of information found on the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Deficiencies are a key thing to look for on these inspections. You should especially avoid nursing homes that have severe deficiencies linked to endangerment of patients. Although this nursing home had some deficiencies on its government inspection report, none of them were major deficiencies based on CMS' deficiency scale. A couple minor deficiencies aren't the end of the world.
Long-term Care Quality
This nursing home's long-term care rating is one of its best scores. The nursing home was awarded a C in this area. In a long-term care setting, the nursing home's primary goal is to maintain residents' quality of life and keep them safe. Once we looked at the amount of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we then looked at the facility's vaccination data. We were optimistic to learn that this facility vaccinated 100 percent of its residents against pneumonia. Lastly, this place was also able to limit hospitalizations. It had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.

Short-term Care Quality
Moving on to the category of short-term care, this facility was given just a D in that area. In computing these short-term care grades, we analyze the facility's skilled nursing services, including those performed by registered nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists and other types of skilled professionals. The purpose is to formulate a measure for comparing the rehabilitation services of different nursing homes. Considering its grade in this category, we weren't surprised to learn that this place is well below average in terms of its quantity of physical therapy and registered nurse hours provided to its residents based on the measures we looked at. Honestly, this was about what we expected here. Finally, we assessed the percentage of residents who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. We found that just 4.7 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home.
Nurse Quality
The final category we looked at was nursing. It received a lowly F in this area, which is an abysmal score. The nursing rating consists of several subcategories, many of which are based on levels of nurse staffing. This facility provided just 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident on a daily basis. This is a very low total compared to most nursing homes. Lastly, we also assessed some nursing quality-based metrics in computing our nursing ratings. This nursing home performed well when it comes to minimizing its residents' pressure ulcers and major falls. Many consider these data points to be good measures of the quality of nursing care.
