Nevertheless, with just a D in this category, it still performed relatively poorly. Our short-term care grade is often used to judge a nursing home's rehabilitation services. These types of services include registered nurses, physical therapists, speech therapists and other highly trained professionals. To our surprise, this nursing home actually fared well at keeping its residents out of the hospital. In fact, it had only 0.02 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days. This is its best feature in this category.

This facility received really weak inspections in recent years, causing us to give them a lowly F for inspections. An F in this category is typically a signal that we found some red flags on the facility's government inspections. We would advise paying special attention to any deficiencies on a nursing home's inspection reports when it receives this poor of an inspection grade. We suggest you pay close attention to the severity of those deficiencies. This particular facility had 2 deficiencies by government inspectors. The only favorable thing we found is that none of the deficiencies were in the categories that suggest they caused a threat to resident health or safety. Finally, this facility was cited by CMS for possible abuse or neglect. We would not recommend this facility under any circumstance.

In determining a nursing home's nursing grade, we weigh the number of hours nurses are with patients and the level of licensure of those nurses.
