Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A-minus

This nursing home really fared well in the area of long-term care. In fact, we gave it an impressive grade of A- for that area. Nursing homes that excel in this category tend to provide patients with closer supervision and stay on top of routine healthcare services. After assessing the quantity of care provided by nurses and other staff, we turned to the nursing home's vaccination data. This nursing home vaccinated 96.799995 percent of its patients for pneumonia, which is higher than most nursing homes. Clearly, this place is doing something right in this area as it was able to keep its residents out of the hospital. In fact, it had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.

Facility Inspections

Grade: C

This facility's next best category was inspections. This grade is based on its recent health inspections. We awarded it a C in this category. Inspection ratings weigh several factors, including deficiencies and federal fines. You can learn more about each of these items by reviewing copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. Surprisingly, this nursing home was hit with a category J through K deficiency, which are among the worst deficiencies. This generally indicates the government inspectors found a deficiency which placed patient safety or health in imminent danger. Unfortunately, we also need to draw your attention to the fact that this facility received significant government fines in recent years.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: C

The next category we analyzed was short-term care. In that category, we gave this nursing home a decent grade of C. With our short-term care category, we attempt to create a valuable gauge for rehabilitation. In this process, we assess the facility's level of skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as speech therapy. We found that this place was below average in the two key staffing areas we assessed. The facility offered fewer registered nurse and physical therapist hours per resident than most other facilities. The final metric we considered in this category is the percentage of patients who were able to leave the facility and return home. We discovered that just 0 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home, which is actually below average.

Nurse Quality

Grade: C

Switching gears to our fourth category, this nursing home was given a decent nursing score of C. There are a host of factors included in this area. Many of these data points relate to nurse staffing. This nursing home averages just 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident each day, which is well below average. Despite having low quantities of nursing care, this place fared better in some of the quality-based metrics we looked at. In fact, it scored well in terms of minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers.
