Facility Inspections
While we did not rate this facility favorably overall, we want to point out its relatively solid health inspections in recent years. We gave it a B+ in this category, which is much better than its overall grade. Our inspection scores are based on many items found on the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Deficiencies are a key thing to look for on these reports. You should especially avoid facilities with severe deficiencies associated with risks to resident well being. Fortunately, although this facility had some minor dings on its government inspection report, it had no severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are those found in categories G through L. This tells you the inspectors didn't deem any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient safety or health. A couple minor deficiencies aren't the end of the world.
Nurse Quality
We also ended up giving this facility a fairly respectable grade in the area of nursing, where it received a grade of C. Our nursing score is mostly associated with a facility's level of nurse staffing. This nursing home provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per patient per day. This is a lower figure than we were hoping for. Finally, although this facility got dinged a bit for nursing hours, it excelled in a few of our quality-based metrics. With fewer than five percent of its residents suffering from pressure ulcers, it did very well in this statistic.

Long-term Care Quality
Turning to the area of long-term care, this facility received just a D in this area. When nursing homes receive this type of grade in long-term care it is often a bad sign for resident care and it may mean that the facility is not as well-staffed. Once we assessed the quantity of nursing care, we next considered the facility's vaccination data. Frankly, we were a bit concerned this facility vaccinated a relatively low 66.88312 percent of its residents against pneumonia. To our surprise, this facility actually fared well at keeping its patients out of the hospital. In fact, it had only 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days. This is its best score in this category.
Short-term Care Quality
Turning to our next area, we gave this facility a D for the area of short-term care. This was the nursing home's least impressive category grade. Our short-term care scores are probably most important for people requiring a nursing home for rehabilitation. Rehabilitation typically utilizes more skilled nursing. Skilled nursing includes not only nursing services, but also physical and speech therapy, as well as other variations of therapy. Given its score in this area, we were not stunned to find that this place is well below average in terms of its quantity of registered nurse and physical therapy hours provided to its residents based on the data we looked at. Honestly, this was about what we expected here. Lastly, we looked at the number of residents who were able to return home from this facility. This facility didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 3.5 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home.
